Eagan's 5K Your Way Activity Festival

Enjoy running around and just plain having fun! Eagan’s 5K Your Way Activity Festival is coming soon! This event will be held at the Eagan Festival Grounds at Central Park located at 1501 Central Parkway. The date of the event is Saturday, May 19th, 2012 from 8:30am to noon. This is a celebration of being active! The event will include a do-at-your-pace 5k (3.1 mile) race where you can either run, walk, roller blade or ride a bike! Music will be playing to make the festival atmosphere enjoyable, as well as healthy snacks and fun activities that will promote an active lifestyle. This event replaces the Eagan Fun Run held in the past. Pre-register by May 7th and save $5 dollars and guarantee a t-shirt size, whereas after May 7th registration will only occur at the event.

Day of Event Start Times

• 8:30 am – Day of event registration &

pre-registered t-shirt pick-up begins

• 9:15 am – Runners / walkers start

• 10:15 am – Bicylists / rollerbladers start

(bikes line up first, followed by rollerbladers)

• 11:15 am – Youth dash (for kids 6 & under)

• All children will receive ribbon at finish line

• Awards for top 3 male and female overall runners

• Clock at finish, no official results

The 5K is for all abilities, done at your own pace.

Inclement weather - the festival and youth dash will move to

the gym. 5K will go on as scheduled. Weather Hotline for day

KELLY PARK SPLASH PAD

 Splish, Splash just like a fish! Kelly Park Splash Pad will be opening in the park late May to Early June! (Weather permitting) This will be an exciting adventure for kids of all ages. March has been exceedingly warm – yet there could still be some freezing yet to come our way which could damage the water pipes and the splash pad. Coffee With A Cop


Have you ever wanted to know the difference between a DUI and DWI? How about the exact speed limit a person can drive over before obtaining a speeding ticket? You can! Rosemount’s Community Spirit continues this year with "Coffee with a Cop" that is hosted by the Rosemount Police Department. People of the community who have any questions or concerns can visit coffee shops around Rosemount and have a cup of coffee along with a nice friendly chat with a local police officer. People can learn about daily life behind the badge as well. The "Coffee with a Cop" series begins Thursday, April 26th at 8:30am. The location schedule is as follows:

First Thursday of the month: Morning Glory's
Second Thursday: Starbucks
Third Thursday: Caribou
Fourth Thursday: Suzie's Kitchen

Rosemount Skate Park & BMX Park


Rosemount Skate Park has a permanent location at Schwarz Pond Park. The park has new grind boxes, grind rails, launch boxes, and quarter-and a half pipes for the skaters to show their talents. Some of the features are anchored down by their own weight while other ones, which are lighter, are secured by cement. Rules are posted at the park suggesting skaters to wear helmets, knee and elbow pads for their safety. Garbage receptacles are placed at the park with the hopes to keep the park clean. The park is open during regular hours of 6 am to 10 pm. The park is located at 13787 Dodd Boulevard with access to the park from Connemara Trail west of Highway 3.

Farm Babies!

Come out to the Minnesota Zoo and enjoy the sights and sounds of spring at the Wells Fargo Family Farm. There’s nothing cuter than baby chicks, piglets, lambs, calves, goat kids, and bunnies. There will be fun, hands-on kids' activities on April 6 & 7.
Activities:
  • Tractor Rides from the Grain Elevator to the Farm (Friday, Saturday, Sundays)
  • Kids' activities at the farm April 6 & 7 (11:00 a.m. -2:00 p.m.)
  • "Peter Rabbit" Costume Character (10:00 a.m. -1:00 p.m.) – Saturday, April 7
  • Face painting (11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.) April 6 & 7
  • Take a ride in the AgCab Lab tractor provided by MN Farm Bureau 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. (Weekends only)
